Furry fuzz

..so I know there's three things you ought not to write about if you dont want to cause a fuzz, religion, poletics and FUR.

But,

I just went to the Porta Portese marked in Roma and bought the most awsome vintage fur, and I am so exited. It has a sort of 60's glam, white with a hint of pink, very primadonna. I will post pictures in the future.

I grew up on a farm, so I sort of know nature first hand, i'm kind of relaxed around the whole thing. My father and brother are hunters. Our animals live happy lives in the woods and fields, they die a quick and humane death. As long as this is the standard, I dont mind fur.

However, I do not like animals to suffer, fur or feather, and I very much agree with the need of strict laws around fur farming ect.

What are your thoughts on this?

The fur in the picture is faux, and I have snaged it from designlovefest. I love the little bow in the back!

It feels weird to be blogging again afther the 22 july, i can't seem to find a appropriate post to follow the last one. I almost feel guilty for haveing good news, but that is what i have, good news!

Me and my boys have finaly made the jump and moved to italy. I'm writing this from our casa in Viareggio, Tuscany.

We have been here for three weeks already, and are starting to learn the Italian way. Its been a slow start, it took me a week to just get online. Siljan loves it here, no wonder, he gets a lot of atention:) he has a little tub to cool down in and are happy to come along on our many trips around the italian countryside in his stroller. I'll be back with more pictures and updates (about time i started blogging again huh), until then, here are som pics i snaped in Firenze.

Week 37

I'm now in the end of week 37 and (i never thought i'd say this) I realy realy want to give birth... I feel huge and heavy, and yesterday I couldnt fit into my shoes because of all the water in my body. I would realy like to wear shoes again, so please baby come out!

We are now very close at choosing a name, but we have decided to keep the two alternatives to ourself until he is born. We want to wait and see which name suits the little man the most. And also, I dont realy want to know it if the people around us dont like the names we have choosen, it is so individual what names you like anyway. I remember a friend of mine giveing her baby a very unusual name and I thought Oh my, but now that I know him, no other name seems right on him.

Anyway, let me just say that both names are beautiful and you just have to be patient dont you, haha..

Now, I and my big tummy are going to sit on the porch in the sun and wait, it looks like spring is finaly here. Have a nice day all of you!

My contribution for the NIB challenge of the month: LETTERS.

The first picture is from the childrens room, a pretty clear message. Made by black tape simply, a very economic and easy way to refresh a white wall if you are renting I think.

This is our wardrobe, its in the living room since we have no hallway. I painted it with black board paint with a Mondrian twist, perfect for inspiering quotes and the nr. to the hospitale where i'm giving birth (in case of panic).

Mango favorites

My friends took me shopping this week, and we ended up buying half the Mango store. I love the Scarlett collection they got going on right now, not just the clothing but the whole setting. It reminds me of one of those sunny days when nothing special happens, but you end up remember it like the perfect day anyway. I bought the sweater and the dress in the pictures below. I wasn't to shure if the dress was a little over the top with the pattern, but the man seem to approve and he is usually realy picky.

I can't wait to start wear them! I bought them in a not pregnant size, since there are now only 3 weeks left until the due date!!!!!

It is strange to think about that the pregnancy is almost over, I'm going to miss my little big bump. But at the same time I'm impatient to meet my son and also have my body back (to be able to take a run and sleep on the tummy, seems like heaven right now).

I snaged these pics from the Dos family, I just find the idea genious! I have been thinking about makeing some cardboard puppets from black and white photos of our family. I've heard that babys like to look at black and white images of their parents and closest family, and since we live so far away from ours, I thought it would be a nice way to remember them. You know, so the baby won't forget their faces from each time we meet up.

But seeing the Dos family's mini house, it got clear to me that I should make the houses they live in too:) What a great project, I cant wait to start (i'm starting right now)!

Live in Rome

I'm takeing a course in italian language and culture in Rome this summer (just found out I got in, yey), so we are now in the business of finding an appartement. No luck yet, but I'm waiting for a mail back from the people who are renting out this place:

It looks like a dream in the pictures. Close to school, sunroof, lots of shadow and space for the baby... I definitely see my self staying here.

Do you have any experience with renting in Rome? Dos and dont's?

I want spring! Now! (please). With only a month left until the birth, I find this demand reasonable. My feets have gotten so big, I only have 1 pair of winter shoes that still fits, I would do anything to wear my converse right now. Or just maybe wear my jacket unbuttoned. It seems like Oslo has gone into a new ice age though, so the spring preparation has been strictly indoors in our home.

I've brought in some green, some fruit and flowers, to the interior. And today I did some impulsive buying and got a lime green rug from Indiska to have infront of the door. I just put it there so no pictures yet, but I'm realy happy about the way it turned out.

But realy, I cant wait to sit on our porch and eat breakfast, or dig around in the garden. What do you look forward to this spring?

Here's a little tour of our baby/guest room as requested. Its nearly done now I think, i'm not realy good at finish things :)

I wanted to use neutral colors, but the blue sneaked its way in anyway. I might throw in something yellow, green or purple though, what do you think? I have this idea about the room growing with the kid, to start with a clean pallete and wait and see who this little human is.

The crib is made by my grandfather for my brother, a little piece of art!

The room is the brightest in our appartement, with three large windows its almost like a winter garden. I have no idea what to call our interior style, but I like to bring nature inside and surrond myself with living things, and I wanted the room to be a place to relax and grow. Its a bit like a greenhouse, haha.

Baby wish list

12 April is approaching fast, and people have started to aks if there is anything particular we need or want for our little baby. We are lucky to be surrounded by wonderful loving and generous people, so the basic needs like clothes, baby chair, car seat, stuffed animales ect. are already covered (thank you everyone).

So, I have made a not-so-important-but-fun list over the things we wish for our little one.

Books!

In every shape and size. I think one of the most important things you do for your children is to read for them, I vow here and now to make it a routine to read for my son everyday. Below is some of my personal favourites, and they were all big hits in the kindergarden where I used to work:

Ludde- the naughty rabbit and his little friends.
Den lille larven aldrimett- a very hungry larval who eats his way through the book.
Den lille musa leter etter en venn- by the same autor as the one abow, a mouse looking for a friend, guessing game for the kiddos.
Pippi- classic by Astrid Lindgren. I love all her books, but beeing Pippi has a special place in my feminist heart.

Wooden toys from Brio.

I'm a big fan of these, it was the most populare toys in the kindergarden, the kids never tierd from them (unlike alot of the new and fancy plastic toys, who often breaks afther a short time). Safe around chewing toddlers and totally solid, they last for generations!

Dog to walk
Toy oven (the children LOVED this one, from toddlers to six year olds), mommy loves the color.
Train and railway, another classic.

IKEA got some great (and not to expensive) stuff for kids.These four are my favourits right now:

EKKORE learn-to-walk carriage- I have never met a kid who doesnt love to push around a trolley. And this one looks sooo lovely and retro.
EKKORE hanging chair- perfect for reading on the porch (mommy realy wants)
LANDET fabric garden- to cute, and easy to bring with you since you can fold it together into a bag.
DUKTIG toy food- very cute and fun shapes and colors for a little person to play with.

Fancy cool stuff. Things I would love to have in the nursery if I wasn't on a budget:

The Perfect Morning

If I was to be someone else, today I would like to be Twiggy and petite.

I would start the day by putting on this awsome pink dress (or the one I found at Zara yesterday) like it was as natural and comfortable as PJ's.

I would do my makup with confidence.

My super babyboy would be here, all healthy and strong...

..and during a pancake breakfast I would think about how lucky I am to have a baby who likes to sleep at night and was born in a mysterious easy manner.

I would be greatful for living in the middle of everything, close to the skyes and in bright colors, with all of my friends next door.

Afther breakfast I would go across the hallway and into my studio space, where I would make genious plans for the day with my lazy dog named Ringo (Star).

..and make a mental note to remember to water our plants in the ever bright living room.

Then, look forward to plan a suprise birthday party or a bakeing sale or craft something, since I finished all my freelance work yesterday and has the day to my self.

Oh, and its Friday bytheway. So I have the whole weekend to look forward too.

...summer. I usualy like the norwegian cold and snowy winter, but this year spring can't come around fast enough. So many things to look forward to! Our little boy will be born, were going to italy and there will be sun, alot of it! And also, I'll fit into my wardrobe again!! Geting tiered of the maternity clothes now, it will be a relief to find my summer garments. I love the style from the pictures below,but it might just be the light and the hint of sunny days that has captured me.

I was walking past a secondhand shop this thursday, feeling all gray and down. Then, faith interfered and I went in, and then out again with this scarf in my hand.

40 kr= no guilt + lots of happiness!

Later I was staring at the window of a book store while I was waiting for the buss, and suddenly realiced I was looking at just what I was missing, inspiration. I went in and bought this miracle called INDIE CRAFT by Jo Waterhouse, and it was on sale too!

Thank you faith for bringing us together, I realy needed a splash of color.

I got the dusty pink one and no regrets about the decision yet! I cant wait to start wearing it. Right now its standing by the door, ready to be taken to the hospital. I heard that you should have whatever you need at the hospital ready by week 30, so I did. Just in case (I actually thought I was going in to labor today, but no, false alarm).

So,

in my diaper bag I have for the mommy:

mobil, ipod and camera
mobil, ipod and camera charger
a little notebook and pen
all paperwork
slippers, PJ's, loose t-shirts and tops fit for breastfeeding, nursing bra, big granny pantys
bathrobe
breast pads, liners and soft toiletpaper (since norwegian hospitals seem to have bought sandpaper instead)
hairdryer
lip balm
cardigan and warm scarf

For the baby:

blanket and baby bunting for the going home
pacifier
diapers and wipes (i probably dont need that, but hey)
eco baby lotion and oil
1 coverall, 1 long sleeve bodysuit, 1 short sleeve bodysuit, 1 wooly bodysuit (I have no way to tell wether it is going to snow or if we can wear shorts in april. Lovely norwegian weather...)

This week has flewn by in high speed. I think my sense of time has been disturbed by my new sleeping habit, which is in intervals these days. Every third hour I wake up to go to the bathroom/shake my sleeping arms back to life/ relieve my acceing back ect. As a resault I walk around like a zombie at daytime (if I cant sneak in a nap), and I cant realy remember what I've been doing this last week. I do know I have been takeing clever notes and put together this 3D rhino puzzle, because I have it on film.lol.

Note to myself: take a lot of pictures!

Week 27

I'm now 27 weeks pregnant, and so far it has been a dream. I have no pains and I only got sick once, I hope the last months will be as good (and the birth!). The due date feels a lot closer on this side of christmas though, so we have started to colect and buy the things we are going to need. We have a long long list. I'm anxious that we won't get the hospital bag packed in time, so to calm myself down I have decided to buy the diaper bag (its on the must-have-list) and get it packed as quick as possible. I have three favourites and you must help me choose one!

The powder pink and prettiest one(mommy WANTS). Not to expensive, but maybe the least practical. The color might be a little of too, since we are expecting a boy. Also, the man might need to cary it around a little:)

The same price range as the one abowe, but not as pretty. Its the most practical one though (look at all those pockets!), and the color is more "right", the man can use it too.

This one is unisex and kickass! But expensive, sigh..

What do you think? They all fits on a stroller and can be used as a regular bag too. I cant choose, please help!

I have never been the kind of person who likes things just because of its name. I love to shop secondhand and if I buy something it is how much I like the thing (the LOVE it, must-have-it, cant-live-without-it feeling) that determine whether I get or not, not he price or brand.

But lately I have found myself totaly hooked on three diferent brands i'm not shure I can survive without.

Snö of Sweeden.

My favourite jewlery brand ever. You can collect different necklaces and bracelets and put them together to what suits you the best. I got different bracelets from my parents and man this christmas and I wear them as a necklace. I also got these earrings from my mom as a well done present afther my last exam.

Thay actually look great with everything I own, its like someone took a peek into my wardrobe before they made them.

REN skincare products.

Made by natural ingrediens, and as you can see, no chemicals. My skin problems vanished when I started to use this brand, and stopped using skin products with perfume and other additives. I have one skincare rule; if it burns or sting, dont put it on.

Its a bit expensive though, but the bottles last long and I actually saved some money on sticking to one product (instead of trying a little of everything in desperation).

MUJI.

Me love=easy, recyceled, organized, minimalistic, afordable, design.

Multitasking

I made my way back to Oslo this sunday and since then I've been multitasking.

I made plans for this semester, started on a new syllabus, tried to muster up the courage I need to start on the paperwork regarding haveing a baby and moving to italy (there is tons!), cleaned and tidied the apartement, washed and unpacked my clothes, knitted a pair of baby socks (pictures are coming), trying to sort out the baby/guest room, and started on my long list of crafts and projects.

I finished the pillow last night (in the picture), its made of one of my mans old shirts. The plan was to only use the back of it, but when I had cut of the arms, this idea came to me. It still misses its bow tie around the collar, I have to find one first. Cute in a little gentlemans room!

I keep thinking things will slow down, but they won't. Things will actually just get crazier from here. My poor hunter wellingtons will just have to wait for that walk..

Shopping day

Today was another cold day, mr winter made art on our windows and I had to pull on some wooly stockings and my beanie. I got a big gray sweater this christmas from my auntie and family, "pregnant but stylish" said my cousin. I have probably worn it since then, big sweater=big love.

My mom had a apointment in the neighbour town this morning and she and her friend decided to go shopping aftherwards, I was lucky enough to be invited along. Althoug I had no money realy, I managed to bring home two tunicas, a magazin and a lipstick anyway (below). It was newyears sale! Mom and her friend both got some realy nice dresses too.

Then we hung out in my parents bedroom makeing grand plans for the bathroom makover and I got to snoop around in her wardrobe. The sweetie in the picture is my mom as a child.

Oh, and my brother is superman, as I have long suspected. He confirmed it this morning around seven when he made his bed to kill the time before his workout, before school. I think I probably fell in a boiling pot of kryptonite as a child, the super genes definitely missed me. Maybe it skips one generation and my son will have it? I'll keep my fingers crossed!

This year started the exact same place as last year did, home. I cant belive I took these pictures a year ago!

Sometimes I think I must be the most boring preson alive. I'm not much of a party girl, I love a good book and a quiet life, me and my man want to go and live on a mountain for a month. yeah.
But looking back at this last year, I realice that things do happen in my life too. I've been to Rome, celebrated my moms birthday in Åre, gone to two weddings and one funeral, started to learn italian, moved, and most important maybe; I got pregnant.

Can this new year measure up to 2010? I think it will. This is the year we will meet the most important person in our life. One of my big dreams for my life is also coming true, were moving to italy! Not forever, but for 5 months or so. I'm close to another dream too, but enough about that. What I'm trying to say is that I look forward to the wild rumpus of 2011 to start!!

So I'm finaly home for christmas, and oh man its cold! I forget how cold it gets every year and bring to little clotes. Today me and the little brother made christmas cookies, and my "old" nanny stoped by with a homemade chrismas card. No wonder I love to craft, growing up with so many talented crafty women around me. Origami project 1.

Finaly! I finished one of my origami projects, my, it has taken time. This first one is a Butterfly Mobile for my little niece Emilie, I do hope she will like it!

I thought I'd make a DIY out of it, its easy to make if you got the time.

What you need:

Origami butterflies (I made 36). It doesnt have to be butterflies.
String. I used a thin transparent one.
Mobil suspension. You dont need to buy one, just use an old cloth hanger or a branch.
Glue

If you dont use paper with print on both sides(like me), you might need a stamp pad with colored ink. I also added some leaf shaped pearls to make it hang straighter.

Now, first you need butterflies. I used this DIY:

When you think you have enough for your mobile, use the stamp pad to ad some color if you need it. Then glue or tie the butterflies to the string and tie them to the mobile suspension in the shape you're going for. I glued three butterflies to each string (12) and hung them in a spiral circle, so it looks like they are flying upwards.

Then, tie a little pearl to the end of each string, and viola; your very own butterfly mobile. I think it will look great in a little girls nurcery, and I'm going to make on for our little man too, in other colors though.

Its week 23 and christmas time. I cant belive how fast time flew by, and how big the bump is! Its hard to imagen that I'll have a son in three months, I just got used to being pregnant! On the other side, I have never looked forward to meet someone this much, I sort of wish that the time will go fast and slow at the same time.

We always go home for christmas, so I put up the decorations in our apartment early in december. I wonder how next chrismas will be like, I think we will have to baby-proof the decorations a little. This is our christmas tree and my little deers from skunkboy, I love them so much, they reminds me of me and the mr. Thank you Katie!

I had my last exam today, and I'm so glad the Hollydays are finaly here! Now I have the time to do all those things I have put off for so long. My project list is longer than santas christmas gift list, but I realy look forward to get started on it. I have some great ideas for our little mans room, I promis to keep you updated! The origami projects I've been doing for so long are nearly done too, thats also a post I promis to share, soon.

Here are some pictures of details in our christmas home. The star is the mans favourite decoration and he is almost as exited as I am when 1 december comes and we can put it up. Another star is our poinsettia (in Norwegian "christmas star"), I couldnt find anything to put it in so I just wrapped some paper around it and aded a bow. I think it turned out quite nice! Remember to ad a small plastic bag or something similar around the soil if you try it.

Also, our little red fox from sleepyking showed up in our mailbox. I love him so much, he has kept me company while I've been reading for my exam, and pretended to listen when I have mumbeled italian grammar to myself. Otherwise kept me from going crazy. I bet he and the bump will make great pals!

Note or sketch books for your friend, the writer, or your mom, the artist. Use your left over wallpaper!

Doily makeover! Something old becomes something new, perfect gift for a shabby chic girl.

Tea cup candles! A great gift for your girlfriends, and very easy to do. If you dont have any old china to spare, you can get some very cheap at flee markets.

Glasses case for your old man? Or maybe a ipod case for your little brother. You dont need a lot of fabric to do these, and it takes around 15 min to make one.

Are you one of those with tons of left over fabric? Then these soft pumpkins are your solution. You can make them big and use it as a little stool/ sitting pillow, you can make a soft one for your childrens bed, or you can make a little one and use it as a pincushion. Or maybe tiny pumpkin ornaments? Very earty friendly, very pretty and very easy!

It's a boy!!

Our own little man. I find myself trying to picture him all the time. What will he look like? What is going to be his favourite meal, book, song? It's strange beeing so close to another person and not realy know him yet. We are both so exited and impatient for our little boy to come out, just another 4 months now. I'm guessing the time will blow by in high speed though. We just realiced that we should start shoping for baby, and we haven't picked a name yet! Lots of chores and dreams to kill the time with before the due date, in other words.

Me and my man are not to big on the conservative gender roles. Our lifestyle is based on doing whatever we are the best at. An example, I put together bookshelves and the man is the best chef. He is also the most handy when it comes to electricity and machines. I am the best at sewing and I am the one who cleans up. The man is king of the laundry though. In other words, we are pretty much equals in our relationship.

I haven't given it alot of thought until lately. It might be because I have been raised as a feminist and no one in my home has ever been forced into a role or have been rewarded based on whether he or she has outwards or inwards genitals. I take it for granted that women are equals to men, and I cry out loud if I feel my rights as a human is beeing steped on by someone. But lately I have experienced how much hold these old gender roles still has on us, and it is not only men who maintains it.

We have decided that dad gets the maternety leave in this family when our little baby comes (norway has a maternety leave on 36 weeks with full wage). This because it gives me the opertunety to finish my bachelor degree and dad gets to stay home with wages. I have no problem with this solution, I know my baby will have the best of care and atention.

However, I have discovered how many women react negatively on solutions like ours. "They would never let their time with the baby be waisted on the dad (quote)", and that they will never share their leave. Claws out, protect the female territory.

Girls, honestly, is it only women who are to benefit from equal rights? Are we saying that men are not capable of love? Because, that reminds me a lot of those old men that claims that women are not capable of thinking.

To have some, you've got to give some, and is it realy so bad that we have a whole generation of men ready to raise their children in an new tradition based on humanity and equality instead of gender? I'm not saying moms shouldnt stay at home with their children, my point is that dads should be allowed too, just as women should have the opportunity to become a director in a big company. Go stay at home dad!

People tell me that I'm a hard person to shop for, which I think is strange since I'm more into the actual thought and kindness behind the gift than the thing itself. Week 20

Its the end of week 20 and the bump is now quite obvious. The baby kicks me to sleep every night, it has become my favourite time of the day, a special little moment together. My other favourite time is breakfast time. I never cared to much for this meal before, but now I just don't work without it. Tea and fruits is a must! This morning I ate this, and snapped a pic of the lovely orangeness of it.

Today is also the first sunday of advent. Our decorations are still in a box, since my exam are tomorrow and I just haven't found the time to take them out. But I hope to put the star up tonight at least. Pictures will be taken later this week.

Its the last week before my exsam, and althougt I struggle to keep my focus on the comprehensive syllabus, my thoughts drift towards christmas. I cant wait to put up the traditional decorations, bake and make gifts and cards for friends and family.

Today I couldnt help myself, I just had to make something! I made fudge:)

I have also made our interiour a little more "wintery" with help from a couple of branches, cones and dried oranges.

Oh, and I tried on the dress I was hoping to wear at the christmas parties to see if it still fits. I did! Big yay! See, the rest of them (all 100), did not.

So all in all, a good day.

Here I am, 18 weeks old, giving you a wave! The midwife said I was perfectly healthy and she was a little annoyed with me since I kept moving around when she tried to take my picture. Mom thinks I'm going to be a football player like my dad or a cross country skier like my two uncle Fredrik. I definitely like snow since I gave my mom a good hard kick the minute it started to snow outside last night, I was very exited!

The midwife had to adjust my birth date a little, it is now the twelth of April.

They told my parents whether I am a boy or girl too, they are now trying to find me the perfect name.

What do you think? Boy or girl? and what is the perfect name?

Hello hello,

and happy halloween (is that the propper expresion?)!

I'm feeling alot better, and I'm back in the business of tummy pictures. You cant realy see it in the pic, but it has grown alot in the past few weeks(note, the top button is left open in my pants,, that should give you an idea). Today I finaly have my sweet friend Pus back from Namibia, and she is coming over to dinner (yey). Were not realy that big on celebrating Halloween in Norway, but the tradition is growing. I suspect we will have som neighbour kiddos over tonight so we have a stack of candy just in case. I thought of costumes, but all I could find in our moving mess was a mask, and I feel silly wearing it with my handyman pants. So, costumes are saved for next year when we have someone to dress up:)

I do have some halloween spirit, I will light lanterns on my porch and I thought I would share my favourite romantic landscape painter with you. Caspar David Friedrich that is, very popular in the 19th-century. Its someting very Tim Burtonish about his pictures I think, I wonder if Burton ever saw them. They also reminds me of Marry Shelley's Frankenstein (from the same periode of time if I'm not wrong). Have you read it? If not, tonight would be the perfect time to.

Tiny Tots and Butterflies

Took a break from reading today and tried to sort out the baby/guest room.

This is the part who isn't covered in boxes. The clock in the window is made by my grandpa', the Nursery Rhymes for Tiny Tots used to be my moms.

The color choice is random, its all old stuff, but I think I can make it work both for a tomboy girl or a poet boy (we might find out this monday).

I have started on a project who I have started several times before and never finished. A origami mobile. The theeme is butterflies, and I have made some already. I will have to wait until monday to select the rest of the colors though:)

Its difficult to be pregnant and still a slave for fashion. I cant wear my pants anymore, so I'm mostly walking around in tights these days. Its getting hard to look good, its sooooo easy to just slip into the comfy clothes.

This morning I was brutaly made aware of a huge gap in my knowledge, and my bachelor degree. The subject of my studies are the western worlds art history from anicent greece to the arts of today. I am well aware of the limits this creates, a huge part of the worlds art are left out of my cyllabus. But it never dawned on me how much I was missing out on, until today. I randomly opend my Gardner and looked down on a japanese splashed-ink painting. Of a landscape, from 1495. Outraged!

Here I am, writing a paper on the development of landscape from the seventeenth to the nineteenth-century, where it suposely was libertated from the history painting and became its own genre and a accepted dicipline. And then I discover by accident that this is not true, the japanese beat us with a 100 years. But this fact doesnt matter in my paper because it is not on my cyllabus.

The complex world of the academy, people.

Anyway, I have decided to take the matter in my own hands and educate myself in order to look at western art history with critical eyes. I'm takeing a class on chinese art afther christmas, and I hope that it will help me understand the world not just as the western world.

(Note; japanese prints influenced the artists in the nineteenth-century, per un example, Manet, who colected japanese print. The impresionist van Gogh thought of Japan as utopia).

Week 15

This has been our first week in Vollen, and we feel like we found the right place. We are still waiting for some furniture for our livingroom, but the apartement are realy coming together. Autumn is here with her pretty colored dress, and I thougt it would be nice to capture that in week 15's photos, who is in black and white. haha. The last one is in colors for good measure. I'm planing on a hike in the woods later on. I want to pick some leaves and branches to decorate with, I'll try to take some pictures.

Dear little lamb.

You are 12 cm long this week and mom has felt you moving around in her belly! Pappa has tried to feel your movements too, but everytime he tries, you stop. Mom has been feeling a little sick lately, wich is no good since she has a important paper to finish. We recived your baby sling we ordered, and Ann-Kristin called to tell us that she had tons of baby stuff we could have. Its a realy nice family you got, and they already love you alot. Your grandparents are coming to see us next week, and we are hopeing to have the guest/baby room ready untill then.

Today I decided to overlook my paper with a deadline and bake a cake instead. I got the sweetest bread tin on Ahlens the other day, and I thought it would be perfect for a chocolat cake also. It was not. Its suposed to look like a flower. It does not.

But hey, there was nothing wrong with the taste!

I love underbaraClaras new/old kitchen. I think I might try to find a rug like that for our nest. I'm looking for some fancy wallpaper too, for a secret project

And we have almost decided to make a pallet table, something like this maybe, only with wheels so we can move it around.

I am now in my fourteenth week in the pregnancy and we have just moved into our new home. We love it so much here! Its so nice to have a garden, and I love to sitt by my kitchen table in the morning, drink tea and look out the window. Here is a little peek of our apartement, its far from done but it starts to feel like home.

Dear little one.

You are now 14 weeks old and you have made a bump on mommys belly. We have found a beutiful place where you can spend your first years (it has a playground just behind the house!). We have spent most our time nesting and decorating and moving heavy furniture lately, but we think it is wourth it. We took some pictures for you of the window and kitchen table (and your food station) since its where your mommy spends most her time these days. See how much you have grown already! Your Papa has made us a closet and drawers, and we have saved a shelf to put your tiny things in. This seems to be the month of heavy spending. Though most of the expenditures has been very sensible (like new furniture so we wont have to sleep or sit on the floor in our new home, par exemple), I have been a naughty mommy-to-be and bought a couple of things I just couldnt restist.

I know its a little early to start nesting maby, but in my experience time vanish faster than you can wave your wand and say evanesco! I rather be prepared.

I've been droolin' over the baby sling from Serena and Lily even before I got pregnant, so as soon as I found a online shop who shipped to Norway I ordered one. We choosed the green one, since we dont know if it is a little lady or gentleman yet. Its so pretty! Both baby and parents are going to look very handsome in it.

The other thing I have bought for the little one is Liam, the little red fox from Sleepyking. Handmade and soft, just as we like it.

This one is just for the mommy. Ever since I saw this dress by Joy Han in a magazine, I have tried to find it. Last year I almost purcased it from the unique-vintage shop, but I was a little late and there were only big sizes left. Then, yesterday, afther two years of looking, I foundt it on ebay. I was the only one bidding, so I got it for maby a third of its wourth. Big yay! It is in M, so usually it would be to big, but with the mummytummy it might be perfect. I think it will be possible to sew it in to a smaller size later.

Now, I promise to be good and save money from now on, so dont judge me to hard for messing up the budget this month a little. Besides, to have your first baby and find the dress of your dreams, on sale, doesn't happen everyday. I refuse to feel guilty!

Something old...

something new...

And it is true!

I am knocked up, got a bun in the oven, are in the pudding club, in other words:

pregnant!

It was a suprise, but the good kind, and we are very very happy. I am now in the bussines of being a mommy and so far it has been nothing but sunshine. It's week 12 and I have a little baby bump showing. We are planing on makeing a album for the baby, with pictures of the growing bump and litle notes about our thoughts and dreams- now and for the future. I'm going to try and share these with you here on the blog weekly.

Garden is gold

One of the things I love about the new place is the garden. Its going to be lovely to have a porch on sunny days, a lawn to gather friends on and, well, just the opertunety to open the door and let the air and sunshine in. I have big plans for our out door space and I realy want to get started right now! Here are some inspiration for garden life and out door people!

I like to recycle and buy secondhand, but I must admit it has been wonderful to go and pick out some brand new furniture for our nest. I diddnt buy the Tolix chairs, waaay to expencive. But I found a great fake one on Living (the one below)!
